Adopted Corgi Update!

Mac

Adopted boy Mac was part of his parents recent wedding. You can see that he was decked out for the occasion. Know that Macs parents have kept him on a strict diet since his adoption and he has lost seven pounds.....Doesn't he look dapper!

Sunshine Corgi in 2008

-86 Corgis came through rescue
-70 Corgis have been adopted into new homes

Blessings to all of our hard working volunteers for being so dedicated and helping us bring these dogs back to good health and helping them learn to become good family companions. All of our volunteers have earned their corgi wings this years and we are blessed to have them as part of our hard working team.

The Joy of Christmas

Rutledge

Several months ago one of our volunteers came across a corgi in the shelter that was in horrible condition. He was quite underweight, had severe skin issues and had an odor that would make one wish to keep their distance. Bless her dear self she spent some time with this "fragrant" boy and found him to be a most delightful soul. The shelter informed her that he had been a breeding dog and the kennel was no longer in operation. Typically dogs with this background have little to no socialization, dont do well with other dogs and are not remotely comfortable in the home setting. Our volunteer knew she had her work cut out for her and was ready to take him home on his release day.

Rutledge in new home

Some time, some veterinary care, some good groceries and this boy known as Rutledge seemed to thrive quickly. His skin condition responded quickly, the odor faded with the healing skin, the good food added a wonderful new shape to his once bony body and he was an absolute delight. He got along with all the dogs in his foster home and was just as sweet as a dog could be.

A lovely lady was browsing our site one day and decided that of all the dogs posted Rutledge really deserved to have a wonderful life. She learned of his past and was determined that she could provide all that Rutledge would need to once again be a lovely corgi. Indeed she did. In a few short months he has blossomed. We wanted to share before and after pictures of dear Rutledge. A note from his new mom lets us know she absolutely adores him and he is a special part of her life.

Merry Christmas to all of our adopters, our hard working volunteers. Miracles do happen and Rutledge is living proof. May you all have a magical Christmas!
